How can I find textbooks remotely?
Answer
Course Reserves Collection
The majority of textbooks are available through Nealley Library's "Course Reserves" collection. Textbooks in this collection have been provided by your professors and are held for students at the Circulation Desk in the library. Course reserves are available for check-out 2 hours at a time and are intended for library use only (they cannot be taken out of the building).
Accessing Textbooks Remotely
If you are unable to make it physically into the library, we can scan one chapter of an available textbook and make it available through email. Because of copyright restrictions, only one chapter of a course reserve book is available per student. To request that a scan of one chapter be emailed to your student email account:
- Search for your course reserve by title, professor name, or course number (such as CSNL 150)
- Confirm with a librarian that your course reserve is available at the library through online chat or email
- Fill out the Reserve Textbook Chapter Request Form
