How can I limit my search to articles & books that are full-text?

Answer

First, locate the database you would like to search by scrolling through Nealley Library's list of A-Z library databases. This list is alphabetized and can help you find many of the popular databases like Academic Search Complete, JSTOR, and many more!

Next, you can set your search to display results that are available as full-text by clicking the check box under "Full Text."

After typing your keywords in the search bar and clicking "Search," find the "Refine Results" section on the left-hand side. The "Current Search" box reflects the keywords you entered and any limiters in use. You will see that "Full Text" is already selected, as indicated by a checkmark under the "Limit To" filters.

You are also able to limit your search to the following information sources under "Source Types":

  • Academic Journals
  • Books
  • Primary Source Documents
  • Encyclopedias
  • Magazines
  • E-Books

You can even limit your search by the Publication Date! This can be helpful if you need resources published within a certain time period -- for example, within the past five years.
